Montpellier becomes the capital of Mediterranean cinema for 9 days at the end of October. This exciting event, attended by large audiences and by film professionals from throughout the Mediterranean, has been held every year since 1979.
2011 programme: the best recent films made around the Mediterranean with over 120 films in official selection (pre-release showings, competitions and panoramas of feature films, short films, documentaries, experimental films) plus professional seminars and meetings. Tributes and retrospectives: Sami Bouajila, Roschdy Zem, Pascal Elbé, hommage à Ventura Pons, Andréa Ferréol, rétrospective Pietro Germi. A Night in Hell' Mediterranean Vampies. Filmmaking in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, a selection of recent productions and a selection of the great films made in the region. And also animated films, script day, development grant, cinema for lycée pupils with Éric Rohmer's 'A Summer's Tale' and the Festival for young people. Information on www.cinemed
