39st French-speaking World Scrabble Championships

Events

From August 14, 2010 to August 21, 2010

Corum

After Quebec (Canada), Dakar (Senegal), Mons (Belgium) and before Montreux (Switzerland) and Hammamet (Tunisia), Montpellier will host the 39th french-speaking World Scrabble Championships. More than 1200 players are awaited for this huge celebration of the francophonie. With more than 20,000 club members, French Scrabble is even more popular than the original version.

In matchplay, African players will be favorites once again (3 titles in the last 4 years). In Duplicate Scrabble (a variant of the game in which all players have the same letters), Hugo Delafontaine, a 20-year old Swiss will do his best to keep his world crown.
