The Lozère region.

Lozère is high country, given over to the breeding of sheep on the dry soils of the Causses and cattle on the more lush grasslands of the Margeride. If you enjoy the open countryside, this is for you!

The region is very sparsely populated and is full of small rivers (the Lot, Tarn and Allier all have their source here), delightful roads (Corniche des Cévennes) and prestigious natural conservation areas such as the Gorges du Tarn and the Cévennes National Park. Several species of animals have found the Lozère an ideal home, far from urban development: the Gévaudan wolves, the vultures of the Causse Méjean and the bison of the Margeride. Some villages, such as Saint-Enimie and Florac, capital of the Cévennes, have held on to their rural character and are well worth a visit.

Don't miss:  The Gorges du Tarn...
